Shih-poos tend to be small dogs but their size is dependent on the variety of Poodle with which the Shih-Tzu were bred although most Shih-poos are bred from Toy Poodles so as to keep them as small as possible.

They may inherit either the curly hair of their Poodle parent or straight locks from their Shih Tzu side.
